"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your
reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23-24
God has given us lots of great ways to connect to people recently.
Dan preached
at Open Bible for the first time on Sept 8th and finished up another
semester at Toccoa Falls College. He is teaching Sunday School for our
teens, led a missions team to Mexico, and ran his first marathon. Heidi
and Isaac had a yard sale as we work on getting rid of our stuff!
Isaac is loving the 4th grade and Heidi has enjoyed helping with a new
ladies Bible Study. We were invited to teach a College Bible Study, and
have had three Cottage Meetings.
Cottage Meetings are small get-togethers where you introduce us to
people we don't know. They are fun and really easy. We've had dinner
with friends and two other families, talked about what God is doing in
Manila at a Lady's Bible Study, and spent time with friends at a wine
and cheese party.
Email Heidi if you would like to host a Cottage Meeting!
We are 20% Funded!
As faith based missionaries, we need to raise support from churches and
families. This includes ministry costs, money for daily living expenses
like rent and food, and funds for insurance, school, and other needs.
We must be 100% funded before we can leave for Manila. Dan's job ends in April 2014 and we plan to leave in June. Will you be part of our team financially?
We currently need the following Monthly Supporters:
You can Pledge your support HERE
Even if you can't start giving immediately, your pledge to support helps us reach our goals.
What's going on in the Philippines?
Earthquakes and Typhoons are
to be expected in the Philippines, but have been particularly deadly
and damaging recently. President Aquino has been making good on his
promises to fight corruption and instances of graft and misusing public funds aimed at helping the poor have been exposed.
Our team members on the various islands continue to proclaim the good
news of Jesus to those they encounter and to work hard in showing God’s
love in practical ways. You can learn more about how IT training and
fitness are paving ways for the Gospel here and read a message from our team here.
Isaac’s Corner
Isaac is closing in on 9 and having fun! He ran a kid's fun run at the
Baltimore Running Festival, where he was interviewed on the local news.
Isaac continues to practice piano and has added saxophone this year.
He was amazed by God's power and majesty at Niagara Falls this year and
was a junior groomsman in Uncle Dave and Aunt Kristin's super fun
wedding!
Prayer Needs
Please pray for our family as we prepare
That God will increase our faith and dependence on Him
